I enjoyed this movie. There are three generations of women, each with their own challenges and ways of responding to challenges and each other. How do you love someone who is self-destructive and apparently a pathological liar? How do you re-build a relationship after years of silence, separation, and misunderstanding? I was amazed at how the movie established the complexity and depth of these challenges, but then proceeded in believable ways to show the characters struggling and overcoming. There are male romantic interests, but fortunately, you don't feel that they are the Answer.

The DVD extras are also interesting. Director Garry Marshall shares how he wanted to do a movie that dealt with real life, but with a light touch. The movie addresses serious topics, but there's a lot of humor. A rewarding movie!

A hard topic that Gary Marshall handled very well. If you're looking for one of his great comedy's this isn't it. It is a movie well worth watching.

Good movie. Three generations of women coming together through hard times and laughter.

Nice chick flick, not too intense or gushy.

Language was more than expected, preview did not give anything away. Two ratings on case (14+ and R) go with the R for language and concepts.
