Following Led Zeppelin's disbanding in 1980 - I have found that Robert Plant's solo career (as a singer/songwriter) has not impressed me very much.

I found that the songs here on Now and Zen to be a definite step down from the high calibre of songwriting that I had come to expect from Led Zeppelin's output.

Yes. I am certainly disappointed with most of these tunes here. They are all quite forgettable.

Released in 1988 - "Now and Zen" would be singer/songwriter, Robert Plant's 4th solo, studio album, following the official disbanding of heavy metal greats, Led Zeppelin in 1980.

Plant (40 at the time) returned to his Led Zeppelin roots with a number of the tracks on this release. For example - "Tall Cool One" contains numerous samples from various Led Zeppelin songs.

This album reached #6 on the record charts in both Canada and the USA.

*Note* - The red flag displayed in this CD's jacket-cover photo is of the Wolverhampton Wanderers who just happened to be Plant's fave football team.

This CD contains 13 tracks in all (3 of which are live, bonus tracks).
