In his book, Elijah Muhammad attempts to reach out to the black community calling them to Unite and work together to elevate the status of the race. For the most part his economic plan for the black community is sound and relevant even for today. He does speak the truth about the harsh realities of racism in America, and most of his arguments can be applied to the issues of the economic state of the black community and the treatment of black men by the cops and other races in general.
I do not support his religious views that requires of him to demonize and separate from the Caucasian race. No race is superior to the other; I believe his religious and individual views are rooted in personal emotions and experiences of hate; it is more a response to the hate brought on by the KKK in early half of the 20th century and other racists in general.
However, racism aside, the book is very informational and all races should be welcomed to read to understand ourselves and history to give us a reason why hate cannot aid in the advancement of the whole human race.
