This film should be widely viewed by Americans who unleashed war and violence on Iraq, a nation that never attacked the US. The film shows that war is not all glory and victory, but a scourge on the people, the destruction of civil life. Arrogant ugly Americans created the present mess of ISIS in the Middle East with the Bush war on Iraq. How many crippled and multiple-amputee children the war made, millions of refugees, millions of children with PTSD, Uranium-235 littering the countryside to cause cancers far into the future. A clear-eyed look at what America, in its fear and arrogance and stupidity has wrought.

Engaging, interesting perspective from an Iraqi physician and his day to day effort to make things better. You find yourself trying to walk in his shoes and think about the decisions you would need to make.

a front row seat at the 2005 Iraqi elections, a clash, indeed, of civilizations, a faith-based culture trying to make sense of individual opinion, and its consequent responsibility, under the imperial thumb of an unrelenting America nevertheless, and its coalition - compelling, but only for those interested or concerned

it's hard to accept how much pain and misery we've caused these innocent people. God bless Laura Poitras
