Hey, all you music fans of vintage, American rock'n'roll (prior to the first "British Invasion") - If you really wanna hear an excellent sample of some of the punk/rockabilly sounds that prevailed during the 1950s - Then - Rockin' Bones is an incredibly enjoyable blast from the past.

This 4-disc set is, without question, loads of nostalgic musical fun from yesteryear. Featuring lots of twangy guitar and groovy be-bop rhythms - This collection of 100 tracks contains plenty of obscure tunes from numerous "one-hit-wonder" recording artists.

Yes. Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, and Eddie Cochran are also showcased here on these discs - But my 3 choices for fave tunes are - "I Got A Rocket In My Pocket" (performed by Jimmy Lloyd). "Shakin' All Over" (performed by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates). and "Eeny-Meeny-Miney-Moe" (performed by Bob & Lucille).

I'm agreeing with Gary (again) - this is a FABULOUS 4 CD, 101 cut collection of southern rockabilly music - great pickin' and grinnin'.

Many famous/familiar cuts by stars like Elvis, etc. but I particularly enjoyed hearing some of the just as good more obscure cuts that didn't make it to the 50's radio playlists here in Seattle back in the day.

Great booklet, too.

Interesting to hear/learn that rockabilly had an influence on Brit rock bands before 'the 60's invasion' .

A particularly good example was Johnny Kidd and Pirates 'Shakin' All Over' which reached #1 in England back in June, 1960.

Oh, and a bit surprising to me that there are only 2 holds on this; but 48 holds on 'Fast & Loose' collection - guess I'll have to wait on that...

Are you into early 1950's rock and rockabilly. Well, I have got the box set box you. Early jukebox stars were such people as Elvis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cochran ,Gene Vincent, Buck Owens, George Jones, Jack Scott, Jackie DeShannon, Roy Orbison and Ricky Nelson. All these artists and a lot more are all on this 4 CD collection. KCLS has only 2 copies, but at the moment none are checked out. My comments today are the first patron comment on the web site. I would like to know your reaction to the collection after you hear it. Just write your comment here on the KCLS web site. Thanks.
