Loved, loved loved it! This set has a great collection of the rock standards I would want from the Stones. (Won't mention that these songs are older than my 'children'!)
Question - are these 'modern classical music'?

in the 50s there had been an emergence of bad boy rockers. i'm thinking specifically of Dion, Eddie Cochrane , and to a certain extent Elvis.. although they later admitted to it being a publicity move, there is no doubt from listening to these songs that the Stones were definitely the yang to the Beatles ying and all the better for it. Hell, these tunes are so good they almost make you think the Stones were better than the Beatles, almost.....

(Lyrics excerpt) - "Hey-Hey! You-You! Get off of my cloud!"

Do you really suppose that today (at the age of 71) either Mick Jagger and/or Keith Richards have any "sympathy for the devil?" And, do you know (or, do you care?) that as of 2013, Mick Jagger's personal fortune was estimated at being $300 million?

Anyway - Regarding this Rolling Stones "Hot Rocks" CD collection - These classic tunes cover the years from 1964 to 1971 when these original punks of British Rock'n'Roll were writing up a literal storm of one unforgettable song after another.

This impressive anthology of twenty-one songs from one of pop music's earliest "bad-boys" features such notable hits as - Gimme Shelter, Paint It Black, Honky Tonk Woman, and Brown Sugar, to name but a few.
