Well worth watching for John Gielgud's award winning perfomance as a charming elderly rake on the make. Tuscany is as warm and lusciously lit as ever. Don't be upset if the plot (a mystery) is hard to follow. Just relax with a lovely Super Tuscan and enjoy the good life of an ex-pat in Italy with Gielgud.

It was interesting to see how family dynamics change on holidays. Mom finally took charge of herself and insisted on this vacation ,not aware that her 'almost' cheating husband wasn't planning to stick around ,but hurry back to 'firm up ' the affair he was enjoying. All the performances were solid and the curiosity level increased as mom tried to figure out why their specific family type was exactly what the owner wanted. Grandpa was not welcome to tag along , but he managed to invade the vacation and ended up being an interesting character that irritated you and made you smile both at the same time. This is another of those films that a person needs to 'be in the mood for'. But it was easy to watch.
