Excellent production of a wretched miserable story without redemption.

Been awhile since I have read the book, but remember the temperamental young woman, her brother, their family who run the mill. Differences between the classes, social expectations (especially for women) a classic George Eliot setting. The man with a hunchback whose family has taken over the mill, he is attracted to the temperamental Maggie. The brother gets controlling over Maggie (probably because he can't control much else in his life), buttinski Aunties and the whole setting is brewing for trouble. Watch out for the river! Thought it was a pretty good adaptation of the book.

Streched and most of the acting felt amateurish.
