what a fitting final act for Bergman. very interesting to watch the 'making of' with him and his film-making 'family' who have been with him for years.
I admire aging actors who do not succumb to surgically maintaining their younger selves and who willingly submitting to Bergman close-ups - wrinkles, warts and all.

While I respect Ingmar as a person and believe he made this film to his best integrity -- I agree with some critics that this is not one of his better films. I think this was made more for himself than an audience. It was disconcerting to see the aging of Liv - whose eyes once large and marble blue were faded and she was a wisp of herself. Young actress overplayed the drama part. Definitely holds its own as a human drama -- not everyone's cup of tea and for myself I've had enough of his films. :) I need something to keep me more awake.

A Swedish film with English subtitles. A sequel to Scenes of A Marriage. Marianne impulsively visits Johan where they catch up. Told from Marianne's perspective.
