"The War Wagon", 1967, John Wayne and Kirk Douglas are teaming up to rob what passes as maybe the first armed car gold delivery in America. Along the way the two play well off of each other. Douglas is generously said to be 5'9". Wayne is 6'4" and slight smaller than a large bison. Good character portrayals by Bruce Cabot and Howard Keel (as tall as Wayne but somehow noticeably less rugged than Wayne). There's a good barroom fight and Indians too.
Exciting John Wayne and Kirk Douglas western. It is something to behold the great shape both of them are in the movie. Kirk Douglas gets his shirt off as much as he can, especially in front of women. They both jump on horses with ease and can out shoot the fastest guns. Watch a great barroom fight with Wayne and Douglas taking on anyone who wants a chance at them. Great fun the entire way!
This wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, it is far from being good. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”
Lots of action and fightin'. Not much logic or thought. (And you could recover gold dust from flour very, very easily.)
