Although you hope that this book will have a better outcome, we all know that the lives and stories of those native to North America do not end well. Its a heartbreaking tale of a boy removed from his home in order to strip away any remnants of his tribes beliefs and customs. He is surrounded by other boys that were taken away from their families forcefully in order to whitewash them and make them "presentable."

I do not plan on keeping this horrific history from my children, but I think the book itself is too graphic for children under 5.
