Book Two in the Magnificent Dune Chronicles--the Bestselling Science Fiction Adventure of All Time

Dune Messiah continues the story of Paul Atreides, better known--and feared--as the man christened Muad'Dib. As Emperor of the Known Universe, he possesses more power than a single man was ever meant to wield. Worshipped as a religious icon by the fanatical Fremens, Paul faces the enmity of the political houses he displaced when he assumed the throne--and a conspiracy conducted within his own sphere of influence.

And even as House Atreides begins to crumble around him from the machinations of his enemies, the true threat to Paul comes to his lover, Chani, and the unborn heir to his family's dynasty...

This book closes loose ends and leads to the next book. It plays a pivoting point in the plot and the series. This book is a quick read and less action in my opinion. Great book and keeps you engaged the entire time.

Dune Messiah didn't move me much compared to it's predecessor, but it was a great building block for all of the books that followed!

This is a great read that continues on the story of "Dune," the classic science fiction novel. If you pick this up, be sure to also read "Children of Dune," as the three books form a rough trilogy.

If you enjoy this, I recommend continuing on to the second
"Dune" trilogy: "God Emperor of Dune," "Heretics of Dune," and "Chapterhouse: Dune." It's a lot more involved than the first trilogy, but it will reward your efforts.

This sequel rally does a good job of continuing the story and answering many of the loose threads that were left at the end of Dune. Herbert continues the epic in several other novels concluding in Chapterhouse Dune. Although the story line evolves the context and literary excellence never diminishes.
