This has an impressive look from the previews. The first episode barely held my attention, I skipped through trying to find anything better ... which I guess it kind of did once the robot was revealed. I started the second episode to try and give it further chance and it was the same droll pace and acting.

Maybe I just miss the old school sci-fi when it wasn't mamby-pampby. This has 'safe space' 'blue-ribbon crowd' written all over it.

No likeable characters. Lazy and just plain bad writing. Can't blame the acting. Extremely disappointing.

Only watched the first episode because I didn't care for what I watched. Definitely nothing like the old B&W program from the 1960's. The visual effects and graphics were really good but it reminded me of a cross between the last Lost in Space movie and Star Wars. The acting was flat and it just didn't seem to work for us.

The family makeup was the same as the previous show and movie but it didn't seem right. The storyline didn't seem right - teenage daughter doing surgery, young son is coming up with scientific solutions. Glad I didn't see Dr. Smith - don't think I could have handled a female Dr. Smith.

Highly disappointing.
The show from the 1950s & 1960s was full of fluff and silliness, but better, totally better.
The only character somewhat interesting is Dr. Smith and the doctor is a psychopath.
Every main character, including the psychopath, are morally bankrupt.
All characters have stupid hidden agendas that needlessly puts others at risk.
They only work together to lie about or hide something; work poorly together on the open stated agenda of survival.
This is not good for children because of the moral bankruptcy, not good for sci-fi geeks because poor or no scientific concepts and not good for story adventurist because character draw no empathy or sympathy.
The special effects are good, the scenery and cinematography is beautiful.
Retired, with little to do, and still considered this a colossal waste of time.

oh my, such a lack of appreciation by viewers of a such effort to rework a series.
and yes i remember as a young lad watching with my family and if i was young again i would do the same with this new series. Looking forward to season two.

If you ever saw the campy original series and thought, "It wouldn't take much to make a better re-make." then that's precisely what must have been the thought in the writers room for this one. This HAS to be some of the laziest writing ever produced: contrived story lines, leaden dialog, characters who are VERY hard to like, and who do things that are inexplicable. For a story about a family who value truth and honesty, EVERYONE lies to everyone here!!! Characters lie to get their own way, put others at risk, and for no particular reason. It's great that there are very few scenes shot on sound stages, but this re-boot was a HUGE disappointment. You'll never get these 12 hrs of your life back.

Almost total crap... Only thing good about this show is the graphics. The story is boring and unrealistic. Way to match family drama, a family like that would have never been allowed on such a mission.
A liberal must have made this show. Only a true idiot would send a ship full of scientists and colonists defenseless into the black void of unknown space.
The show sucks... Really not worth watching...

This is definitely a family series. I found that aspect of it irritating as it made everything dangerous and interesting about being actually lost in space a setup for family dynamics. The character of Dr. Smith (in this version a woman) is so nefarious and yet gets away with doing a number on everyone over and over again.
If you like science fiction this will not satisfy. It is about a family in endless peril but having the time of their lives.
I gave it three stars because it looks good and it is family friendly for all those families out there trying to steer clear of the walking dead, Game of thrones and stranger things.
Also just so we are clear I thought the original Lost in Space was totally lame.

This is a beautifully presented science fiction tv series. Will the family survive on this dangerous alien planet? How will they get off this unexplored planet? Well you have to watch to find out. Be aware that this movie is full of suspense which will make you wonder what will happen next. I cannot wait to see season 2. Great family movie. Must see!!!

Okay that's it. I am done with expectations of good things, and this series is a prime example of my disappointment. However great the premise of this re-boot is, was, it comes off as being a sappy family soap opera, where stupid human decisions carry on the storyline. Why is it that all the latest sci-fi series/films all hinge on stupidity to continue the story? I know it's all fiction but a little common sense reality would make for some great sci-fi shows. Guess I'll just have to write them myself, and I will. Stay tuned. Story critique aside, the sets, costumes and locations are all excellent, and almost make this worth watching. Just speed through the trite dialogue and the show's actually not half bad. I did and didn't miss a thing. Danger Will Robinson, danger! Props to Molly Parker for carrying the show.
