"Consequently, Other People’s Stuff seems more than a mere recap of Mellencamp’s rootsier efforts. It’s an anthology of sorts enveloped within the protest motif. That’s a fair assessment, especially since some of the songs here are drawn from outside sources. The lively roadway narrative “Dark as a Dungeon” was culled from a National Geographic special. The rugged blues and bluster of “Eyes on the Prize” was Mellencamp’s contribution to a White House gathering during the Obama era celebrating the Civil Rights movement. “Gambling Bar Room Blues” and “I Don’t Know Why I Love You” were culled from tributes to Jimmie Rodgers and Stevie Wonder, respectively." Well Mellencamp has a lot of fans, and rightly so. This is a collection of previously recorded material, some of it updated and reimagined. Beautifully done. There's a tinge of smokiness to his already rough and tumble voice that has aged well. More wear and tear, so he's sounding a bit more like Rod Stewart and is headed for Tom Waits country.

Aren't you curious what John Mellencamp has up his sleeve with "Other Peoples Stuff"! Just so you know, there are 20 KCLS patrons on the hold list as of today 11/17/18! Seems like a few patrons are curious as I am!
