A funny PG 13 look at the making production of a war movie with nutty actors & film crew about Viet Nam with all kinds of zany, funny characters. Jack Black is a drug addicted actor, Ben Stiller is the serious self-important LEADER of the group who "wacks-out", Coogan is hysterical as the Brit director, Cruise is a complete micro-managing control-freak movie producer in L.A. and McBride is the loser explosion guy who is a wacko. Plus many others. Downey, Jr. is a white Aussie actor playing a black man from the south and steals the movie as Sgt. Lincoln O'Siris while living " black."

Pretty darn funny movie with totally irreverent humor situations.

.
Terribly unfunny movie.
.
The only actors that supply any laughs are Steve Coogan and (surprisingly) Tom Cruise.

Hilarious, every minute something is happening so if you can't follow small details to get jokes you'll probably be lost. True to a lot of vets stories that say they got " dropped in" and had to learn on the fly. Somehow this movie puts the humor in that.

This is not your average Vietnam War movie. It's quite bonkers. Actually, it's nuts quite often. And that's a good thing. Surprisingly fun, wacky, and (at times) deep. Then it goes off the deep end. Watch this movie with friends in the old Man Cave with chicken wings, pizza, and a bunch of brews on ice.

This controversial and absurd action film follows the making of a war movie full of crazy actors. After filming goes horribly, the actors are forced to go out into Vietnam by themselves in order to get a more authentic feel. Quickly, these men find themselves in the middle of an actual war zone after missing many important clues. This film is hilarious yet unbelievable as it plays on many stereotypes and mocks hollywood as a whole. The movie is both genuinely bad and hilariously awful, which makes it so enjoyable to watch. I would rate this movie 3.5/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
