I really enjoyed this more than the previous two! It wasn't as fast paced, but having read Holy Blood, Holy Grail ages before Dan Brown showed up, the title fascinated me. And while a bit slow, it had so many tantalizing tidbits, like Mary bumping into a young student at Leeds that enjoys reading Anglo Saxon literature name Tolkien. Lots of little things like that that really brought the era to life.
I am so glad I started this as an audio book! I love this narrator! I actually prefer her voice in my head to my imagination, which is rare.
As another commenter said, this book goes great with a cup of tea and time to savour it.
