Rhage and Mary return in a new novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, a series "so popular, I don't think there's a reader today who hasn't at least heard of [it]."*

Nothing is as it used to be for the Black Dagger Brotherhood. The slayers of the Lessening Society are stronger than ever, preying on human weakness to acquire more money, more weapons, more power. But as the Brotherhood readies for an all-out attack on them, one of their own fights a battle within himself...

For Rhage--the Brother with the biggest appetites, but also the biggest heart--life was supposed to be perfect. Or at the very least, perfectly enjoyable. But he can't understand or control the panic and insecurity that plague him. Terrified, he must reassess his priorities after suffering a mortal injury. And the answer, when it comes to him, rocks his--and his beloved Mary's--world...

Ahhh what to say when I'm still reading a series 14 books in? Overall I liked it. Not to keen on the everybody wants babies and children aspect to this book-- but with the other side stories-- I was able to keep interest... especially Xcor's story. mmmm. Anywho, onto book 15!!

For me this was just meh but then when I first picked up a book in this series many years ago I remember that I did not really enjoy her writing style so I thought try again with this book. But I still do not like her books since I read so many better books and right now my Paranormal romance is on the back burner and I am currently into Fantasy/Science Fiction. This is nothing against the Author or her books it is just not me anymore.

J.R. Ward is a very talented author who continues to add more and more suspense and anticipation with this latest book in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I would recommend this author and this series to anyone who enjoys a great book that has romance, danger and some twists that keep the reader guessing.

While parts of it were very predictable I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a wonderful addition to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and I can't wait for the next one.

There were enough surprises that it definitely kept me turning pages (and reading way past my bedtime), and I loved every minute of it.

Another great Black Dagger Brotherhood book by J R Ward. This book tells a lot about Rhage and Mary and their relationship and not being able to have children where as others are able to, but there is always a happy ending. Without giving too much away, there is more on who is plotting against Wrath and what is happening with Layla and her babies. Looking forward to the next book in this series A must read.
