Jason Bourne returns in this stunning new thriller from Eric Van Lustbader, continuing Robert Ludlum's classic series.

General Boris Karpov, head of the feared Russian FSB, is dead. But Karpov has reached out from the grave with an unstoppable cyber operation he conceived before his murder, aimed at the heart of the United States--a way to steal the president's nuclear launch codes. Who has taken over the operation? Karpov trusted only one man: Jason Bourne. But can Bourne be working against his own country? The U.S. Government is convinced of his treason, and is doing everything in its power to kill him. Flushed from cover and gravely wounded, Bourne's only hope is to join forces with his bitterest enemy: a powerful Somali terrorist named Keyre, and his protégée, the Angelmaker. If he hopes to survive, Bourne has no choice but unravel the mystery of Karpov's last legacy--a weaponized code that may bring about the unthinkable: a violent end to America.

The Bourne Initiative initiated mysteriously with the advent of Kyre, a Somali arms dealer who appears to have an antisocial personality disorder. Shooting eleven people is no easy task; and he had accomplished without remorse; but his request for Jason Bourne’s assistance had been surprising. Mala, the Angelmaker represented an entirely different profile altogether. Her reaction when Bourne saves the two siblings spoke indifference suggesting an obvious motive behind her affection for the savior. In this respect, the culmination of the novel had been appropriate. Morgana Roy’s appearance evoked suspense, as did the telltale camaraderie that Francois had instilled – a deception that is unexpectedly perceived when she was seen embarking on Gora Maslov’s boat. More significant was the way Morgana divulges Larry London’s masquerade through her brilliance as a software engineer. The sibling rivalry between Constantin and Savasin was identical to the family feud, each searching for power and recognition. Conclusively, the novel was somewhat different while simultaneously presenting bizarre incidences.

Tried hard, but couldn't be bothered finishing. Too many characters to keep track of and difficult to care about or relate to any of them. Not recommended.
