Washed-up Hollywood screenwriter Ray Spass is caught in a downward spiral of broken relationships, wild parties and self-destruction. Out of luck and out of chances, he's one failed script away from fading into obscurity. Little does he know he's about to write the story of his life. As his imagination runs rampant, Ray must join forces with his own fictional character Max Nomax on a reality-bending race to stop the entire universe from imploding, without blowing his own mind in the process.

Weird drug trip style but with an interesting existentialist twist.
But mostly weird.

This graphic novel is like a mashup of that episode of Silicon Valley where the narcissistic CEO takes a bunch of mushrooms and goes out to the dessert to have a Steve Jobs moment of inspiration to find the perfect name for his startup but ends up tripping out on a disgusting gas station bathroom floor while grasping at ridiculous straws meets that issue of Suicide Squad where John Ostrander wrote in Grant Morrison as one of the new recruits of the Squad as “The Writer” and then had a werewolf kill him off when Morrison got writer’s block.

This graphic novel is that mashup, but with better art.

Other: Recommend for school and every library. I think it would make a good play. Cannot speak highly enough about how good it is.
