Franco's Spain and Barcelona in the 1950s is the setting as a young journalist, Ana, is given a chance to cover something other than a piece for the society pages.
Ana’s determination to find the truth in a time when finding the truth could be dangerous shows plenty of pluck. Her clever cousin Beatriz unravels the case's mysteries with her literary prowess, making this a wonderful mystery for avid literary readers.

Spain, 1952 - Ana, a young journalist who hopes to become a crime reporter is thrilled to be chosen to liaison with the police as they investigate a high-society murder. But Franco's fascist government tells reporters what they can (and can't) publish.Ignoring the rules can result in the loss of your job, the loss of your freedom, or even the loss of your life. When Ana teams up with her brilliant cousin Beatriz they push their "unofficial" inquiries too far and find themselves fighting for their lives. A slow start, but this lesson on the terrible toll fascism exacts is also an outstanding mystery.
