Bottom line: I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot, Mort's witty, humorous, intelligent commentary and the Carson City setting. It does require overlooking (or just smiling at) the fact that Mort never meets a woman who's not attracted to him and that the man/woman relationship chemistry he tries to describe just doesn't quite work. Plus there are a (very) few things that make it obvious he's an older guy writing as a younger one, not quite in tune with 2015. Those things are just incidental to a page-turning story with a gripping finale. I look forward to more Mortimer Angel books.
