Known best for his brief but great contribution to rock & roll, Elvis mastered many styles. A success young in life, it was more than a decade before grown-ups allowed him control of his own music, which came in the 70's, with a countrified sound. The style which he mastered and advanced like no other was gospel music, a style in which he dedicated three albums and an EP. However, many gospel and gospel tinged songs appeared on his secular albums. This was his third gospel album, appearing in 1971, for which he won a Grammy award. Backed by a male gospel quintet (The Imperials) and a female gospel trio (the Sweet Inspirations), and a powerful country rock band which he used for his Vegas shows, this is one of Elvis best albums in any style of music. 35 years after his death, Elvis is still one of the top selling musical artists. Enjoy.
