Another entertaining crime novel by David Rosenfelt - a continuation of the series featuring Andy Carpenter and his beloved golden retriever, Tara. I thoroughly enjoy the self-depracating humor of this character, and the author provides plenty of twists to keep a reader's attention, without excessive gruesome detail that so many crime novelists seem to depend on to move their stories along. Rosenfelt entertains with light humor and enough suspense to offer a challenge to the reader.

Entertaining, but too much baseball.

Love David Rosenfelt's books. They are easy to read and the mystery is on the lighter side.

David Rosenfelt's great sense
of humor mixed with a good
bit of sarcasm makes for fun reading .This is not one of
the best in the Andy Carpenter
series but a great ending makes up for it.

Not as good as many of the others in this series but still an entertaining read.

Andy Carpenter is a reluctant lawyer with a passion for dogs and is partners in a dog-rescue organization with his friend Willie Miller. The book starts off with a break in at the rescue and a gruesome murder at another location. Intertwined in this story is diamond smuggling, a terror threat and trying to prove a man, Tommy Infante, innocent of murder. It is a plot that keeps the reader guessing. Andy's humor and sarcasm keep it entertaining as well.

I enjoyed the book because you did not have to read others in the Andy Carpenter series to enjoy this one.

Readers that enjoy humor, dogs, interesting characters and solving murder mysteries will enjoy this book. Recommended by A.M., Highland Library, MCDL

One of the best Andy Carpenter books (and I've read them all). I laughed til tears ran down my face at times.
