You think you know what you're getting--suspense drama, or more than likely, some kind of slasher/thriller/horror movie.

Think again.

Hate bullies? You'll love this movie. But...get set to have a lot of assumptions trashed. Don'tcha love a movie that does that?

Joel Edgerton is a triple threat, here: co-star, writer and director--his first time behind the camera. He's got the goods. But it's his script concept and the way in which he handles the issues that really makes this one of the best movies I've seen in a long time...and I see lotsa movies.

I'll say no more (and avoid the cardinal sin that other reviewers commit, by saying too much), and just urge you to (ahem) open this gift...and enjoy it.

PS: Don't believe what others say about a "downer" ending. Think, instead, "realistic."

Thought this was a solid movie. The ending was a downer though. But in life, you should just be nice to people. That's what I gleaned from this movie, because you just never know!

This was ok. A bit disappointed in the ending - it's a lot of buildup but then just kind of falls flat. The acting was good, though!

Very impressive thriller that keep you on your toe until the end. you have to make attention to important details in this movie. Good acting of Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall and Joel Edgerton.

I saw this in the theater and was really impressed. Great work by Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall, etc. ** Beware any spoilers in other comments! Watch the movie before you dive into plot details. **

Superior for a Blumehouse production but that is due to the fine acting by most of the cast. It is worth a look, but structurally it doesn't deserve any raves like some of the reviews I am reading here. each his own.

A well done suspense thriller that keeps you guessing till the end!

Neat little thriller. Won't change your life, but nice to see Bateman in a dark, edgy role like this, and director/actor Egerton acquits himself well. Nicely shot and Rebecca Hall superb as always.

A thriller with an unusual twist.
You can be terrified by each individual character.

IMDb reported the address of the film:,%20Sherman%20Oaks,%20California,%20USA&ref_=tt_dt_dt

And Zillow has posted the home guide photos:

Jason Bateman: Simon
Rebecca Hall: Robyn
Joel Edgerton: Gordo

Movie Plot:
The movie is about a married couple (Simon & Robyn) relocating to another state and unwillingly reconnects with an insistent gift giving school mate (Gordo). The annoying school mate (Gordo) repeatedly pops up unannounced to talk to Robyn & help Robyn with minute tasks around the house when Simon is away at work. Simon becomes bothered by Gordo’s persistence to be a part of their lives. Simon confronts Gordo and severs the relationship. Robyn finds out that her husband Simon was Gordo’s childhood Bully. Gordo is angered by Simon’s rejection and lack of accountability. Gordo begins to stalk/harass and create problems for the married couple.

I thought the movie was pretty good and worth watching.

-Normally, friendships grow organically. And if they don't serve both parties, they just kind of organically dissipate.
-Don't interrupt me, because I gotta power right through it and then you can talk right afterwards, okay?
-And then there are these. It's from the Bible. "Behold he who conceives mischief and brings forth falsehood." "He has dug a pit and hollowed it out," "and has fallen into the hole which he made."
Spoiler Alert:
-Or maybe I did. I don't know. See, I could tell you the truth. Maybe I didn't do it, but a liar won't believe anybody else, right? I think you just need to go and (intentional removed) It's all in the eyes, you see.
