A different twist on high school social nastiness. The twist only manifests several minutes into the film, so wait for it.
This is one turning worm that bites and hard.

This movie is not one of my favourites i found that the storyline was kind of childish with not the best acting if you like a silly mindless comedy i would recommend it but overall not one of the best movies i've seen the part I really disliked was when she dropped her two best friends for think they only hang out with her cause she was less “attractive” than them which i thought was not very smart your friends are always going to be there for you. I rate this movie a 2 out of 5. And would only recommend this to young teenagers. @movieslayer123 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This is an amazing movie. If you are in high school, you can connect to this movie in so many ways. This movie has a good, yet predictable story line but is also hilarious at the same time. Bianca Piper is given the title of the duff by a former friend. You watch as she struggles to accept this title throughout the movie. You watch her grow as a character as she learns that there’s more important things in life than a title. You watch new romances and friendships grow while laughing along to this comedy. Overall predictable but also very funny movie and would recommend. 4/5 stars @EffyStonem of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library.

The Duff was a great movie in my opinion, it showed how a person can stand up for themselves and focuses on loving people for who they are, and not what they are labelled as. Bianca played a great role in this movie because getting rid of the “DUFF” label is not very easy. The movie included typical high school drama, the kind that usually happens in real life, which was also really cool. I would rate this movie a 4.5 out of 5. @BirdieBooks of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

The DUFF is like any other high school teen movie, yet is still somewhat enjoyable. Bianca's senior year of high school get's turned upside-down, when she finds out she is known simply as the "DUFF'- Designated Ugly Fat Friend, in comparison to her friends. Aside from the horrible slang that the film attempts to make popular, this film definitely has some redeeming qualities. Bianca and Westley are actually interesting characters who you grow to care for. Though it has some awkward moments, but I'd definitely recommend this movie to watch with friends on a Saturday night. 4 Stars. @Ruby_Tuesday of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

I got a copy of the movie that was scratched, so I couldn't even watch the movie without it skipping I think the library should invest in getting a machine that cleans the scratched discs. I'm not happy with the DVD being scratched hopefully I can get a copy that's not scratched next time

I enjoyed this one. Teen drama and comedy rolled into one movie!

a thoroughly enjoyable movie in the teen genre. a little bit Sixteen Candles, Mean Girls and Clueless all rolled into one. many laughs and humorous scenes made this an easy watch. just the facial expressions on Bianca made it worth while.

Great high school love story/comedy. Have a marathon with She's All That, Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Drive Me Crazy.

This movie is such pure, silly fun, with a great cast doing a good job with sharper-than-expected material. Based on Kody Keplinger's novel of the same name, it's lighter and funnier than the (excellent) book, without descending too deeply into cheesiness. It's worth watching just for the visual of a sobbing Allison Janney driving a lawnmower over her ex-husband's clothes while chugging white wine! (Also, true story: I tried to get a former roommate to go see this with me when it was released, and she refused. A full year later, she texted to tell me that she watched it and loved it! Vindication!)

Better than anticipated, with considerably more humour.
Warning: This film belongs to that absurd Hollywood tradition where the "ugly" girl is, for example, Leelee Sobieski wearing glasses.
(Note: It is an American movie for an American audience, so the US cultural event called "homecoming" is never defined or explained.)

This movie is false impression of what life is really like. This movie would not be good for really young people. This movie was humorous teen story. It exaggerated the love triangles. The story is weak. All the characters are insecure. They all are not self-defined. Peer pressure is very strong in all of them. They act without thinking first. They do not represent how to make wise decisions in life. They do not know how to prioritize what is truly important in life. The DUFF is the most sensible; but, they make it look like she is the dysfunctional person. They are actually dysfunctional. They likely dislike her because she makes them look so foolish. The DUFF in the end finally realizes she had it right the first time and goes back to what she should be. There is lots of discussions about sex. Teens are drinking in the movie too. The teenagers in the movie are very casual about sex and do new sexually activities very quickly. There is no questions about long term problems or use of birth control. I personally would like to see teens slow down the drinking, drugs and dating. I feel teens in the modern world have short childhoods. I would like to see their childhoods last longer.

Bianca Piper: Is that a wiener in your mouth or are you just happy to see me?
