Princess Academy is a story of the importance of family, friends and honesty. The author does an amazing job of telling the story of a teenage girl and her struggles with adapting to a new environment. Through the use of imagery, the author manages to portray the characters, setting, and plot in a vivid and interesting way. While the story takes a more fantastical approach to the typical coming-of-age tale, it is still relevant and understandable. The author manages to capture the feelings of a teenager as she tries to navigate her new surroundings, as well as having to deal with new people and make new friends. I think this book was really good. It's a good book about girls and her life at Princess acedemy.

This book is beautiful, calming and such an interesting world to dive into. I highly recommend for kids and adults, its well written and engrossing. A book I return to again and again.

At first I thought this book would be boring (but it's not) then when I read the first chapter I thought this book was amazing great book!

Do me a big favor: Just for a minute or two, ignore the title of this book. You might be looking at the words “Princess Academy” and thinking to yourself, “This is going to be a fluffy, sappy story about fluffy, sappy princesses,” and if you are, you’re dismissing one of the finest fairy tales of the last twenty years. Shannon Hale sets her once-upon-a-time in the backwater of a fantasy kingdom—where, according to the king’s priests, the next princess of the land will come. Needless to say, the court is horrified: who wants an illiterate princess from a mining community? Thus, they start a school for all the eligible young women of the mountain, in hopes of making them “acceptable” to their sensibilities. Miri, who’s always been too frail to mine stone with the rest of her village, sees it as an opportunity: she gets to learn everything she never knew about the world beyond the mountain…including the fact that the stone they’re paid starvation wages for is considered valuable by all those rich snobs. It’s Cinderella working for the 99%, and Hale writes it beautifully. The sequels are likewise excellent.

I love this author so I can't wait to try it!

I LOVE this book.
Hilariously, I didn't want to read it when my mom suggested it. I'm like, "A princess book? Nah, I don't want to read that." My mom was awesome, she just said that I was missing out and walked away. Later, I asked my brother about it (who is not huge on princesses, by the way) and he said it was a great book and I should definitely read it. Well, curiosity got the better of me and I read it.
I am SO glad I read it!!
Readers, please read this. You will not be sorry.

this was a great book! I cant wait to read The Palace Of Stone!

I enjoyed reading this book. There were some weird things in it, like the "quarry-speech" and the thing about Mount Eskel not being a province so lowlanders look down on the villagers as if they are not real Danlanders, and some of the names were funny (Katar??) Otherwise I really enjoyed it. It was a fun read!
(NEXT PARAGRAPH MIGHT SPOIL) I was surprised but very happy with the prince's choice. I was just disappointed at the very end because I thought Peder was going to ask Miri to marry him! Now I'll have to read "Palace of Stone". Olana's confession at the end made me dislike her just more.
I was a little doubtful at first but now I'm so glad I read it!! 4 stars out of 5!
