I discovered this album while reading about the case of Joyce Carol Vincent. I didn't know what kind of music this was when I checked it out, but I really enjoy it. Incredible surging guitar and emotion throughout the album. Knowing the inspiration for the songs beforehand lends a sort of eloquent darkness to each piece. I really love "Regret #9". Awesome prog rock.

Wow. This concept album is a triumph. Who would have thought that someone could take a true story about a middle aged woman found dead in her apartment and use the story to create a work of art like this? Lyrically the album explores the struggles, suffering and resolve of the human spirit. Musically it ranges from intense progressive rock/metal to beautiful, atmospheric interludes. This is among the best progressive rock being made today, if not ever. For those willing to invest several listens to fully absorb the material, it is well worthwhile. Oh, and do yourself a favor and check out the video for the album track Routine on YouTube. It really brings the song to life.

I discovered Wilson solo AFTER hearing much of the work he did for his remastering on Yes and Hackett. I was very impressed with what I discovered. Good OLD tyme prog rock ( insert Crimson, Yes, Hackett, Genesis) mixed with NEW prog rock ( porc tree, dream theatre, transatlantic) and you end up with a very clever, almost dare I say, genius of a new prog rock era that can be accessible to many ..But lets face it, it doesn't rap, it doesn't DJ, and it doesn't repeat verse, chorus ,verse chorus...so good luck getting any airplay on this side of the ocean. If you have discovered his gems, tell others and PLAY IT LOUD. !

To a Steven Wilson fan, this album is very good. It has all the elements of prog rock and pop that we've come to expect. The last tune really hit me emotionally as it deals with someone giving up on life.

Excellent album. The most Porcupine Tree sounding of his solo work.
