In 1818 India, Lt. Col. Richard Sharpe and Sergeant Major Patrick Harper are traveling across India, escorting the beautiful Marie-Angélique Bonnet to meet her fiancé. While in bandit-plagued badlands, they come across the very dregs of the Crown's troops : an ill disciplined, rag-tag unit led by boy soldier Beauclare. As Sharpe and company sit down to have dinner with their hosts, the camp comes under attack by the notorious bandit Chitu. When the dust settles, it becomes apparent there have been many casualties and Sharpe realizes that he is the only person now capable of getting this wagon train to the safety of the next army garrison. Little does Sharpe know that the adventure has only just begun and that he has inadvertently stumbled across a massive opium trafficking ring.--Container.

I'm a fan,.. and this is definately a rewarding 'must see'. I wish there were more feature length films from all of Bernard Cornwell's excellent historical novels !??

I suggest the prior reviewer to take his (very angry) complaint to his library; this is a forum for reviews of the items, not the library service.

Ah, the joys of incompetence and inconsistency. The copy that I took out from the 67th Street branch had only one disk in it. I had to get it home to find out that the only disk I had was marked Disk 1. NOTHING WHATSOEVER ANYWHERE ON THE CASE REFERS TO IT BEING A DAMNED MULTIPLE DISK SET. NOTHING. As no one checked it at the time it was handed out to me, I think I can safely say that there was no note about checking the number of disks in the case in the computer record. What idiot in the employ of NYPL thought that was a good idea? Apparently quite a few, or so I suspect. It's not like it is the only set in the catalogue that doesn't tell you essential information, like what part of a series it is, Or how many disks you are going to be held responsible for. So now I am supposed to be on the hook for that second disk. Screw that. As I don't watch things that I am not in a position to finish mostly, I have nothing whatsoever to add to the comments on the actual story. Gee, thanks, NYPL. Good job for that.

One of the final Sharpe stories. This happens in 1818 when he and Patrick have left the army and are on their long journey back to England. - But no journey is complete without our two heroes meeting and beating devious enemies. An excellent movie.
This DVD has SDH.

Sharpe’s Peril. DVD --- This is a 100 minute movie version of Bernard Cornwell’s book by the same name. The scenery is as magnificent as the rest of the movie; there are even REAL elephants. And of course, as always, the story is first rate. This more than does the novel justice. For Sharpe fans, this is must see.
