The first time I seen V/H/S (2012) was when the local library still had a wall of VHS tapes and no DVD's to loan yet. The cover looked interesting, but was underwhelmed by the low budget production.
I remained committed and wound up re-watching it a lot of times!
Original scripts, and pretty good acting.
If you want great drama/horror/sci-fi/weirdness, then check out all of the V/H/S trilogy.

One of the best shocking stories here "Amateur Night", is about picking up women to a motel for sex, including a strange young woman, Lily (Hannah Fierman).
The segment was made into a spin-off film, "Siren" (2016).
I will not spoil it for you, and you shouldn't learn all of the plots before viewing.

This is a decent film; lovers of horror may appreciate it. If you're not into "found footage" (I agree, it's been overdone), then beware. Otherwise, enjoy the ride!

The reception towards this movie has either been extreme love or extreme hate. Am I the only one who thinks this movie is okay? At best it's okay.
First segment was predictable. Nothing really stands out except the actress playing the creepy chick. She was good.
Second segment was just a couple minutes of nothing.
Third segment I liked. I found it entertaining how the ghost appeared in the pixels of the camera.
Fourth segment wasn't that bad but it's baffling that it's done in Skype form, in a movie called "VHS"! You could pass the argument who put all these segments on VHS and why does this old man have them, okay for the other ones, but with this one, really, who put this on VHS? Who thought it was a good idea to put a Skype recording onto a VHS tape?
Fifth segment was my favorite segment. I wish the whole movie was just of this segment.
Overall, I don't think it's that bad or that good.

Piss poor movie. Cant believe I wasted my time with it. I tend to like the strange and bizarre movies, but this one, while strange and bizarre, It made no sense. Yes it was short stories, the thing that was supposed to tie them together didnt work. I really cant believe they made a sequel to this. Id rather shave my eyeballs with a rusty razor than even pick up the sequel.

HATED this movie. Then again i didn't realize it was just a mixture of short stories. (i usually like those) but i thought it was badly done and at times boring. predictable and stupid.

Liked the Players Action in the Movie Very much. The theme is in the Actual mixed with the explanas of a posiable illusion not so readally accepted as the fact, making the movie appear as authentique footage of film that might had been edited. -L

Worst movie I have ever seen and that's saying something. Divided in to "home movie" like segments and poorly shot gets disorienting and story never develops. There were cool ideas that they leave on the floor and never pick up.
