From Library Staff

A wordless story of a girl who, upon seeing a beautiful bicycle in the store window, scrimps and saves to buy it – only to discover it’s been sold. Lovely, vintage-looking illustrations and a message of fiscal responsibility and kindness make this a must-read.

A wonderful book for understanding visual literacy and narrative. Mark Pett accomplishes so much with a subdued palette and a gentle story. Many interesting details to enjoy in this wordless story book.

Modern classic.
A good conservation piece for parents & children on delayed gratification, hard work & kindness.

Great book for developing language and discussion for ELL students or young non-readers or to just develop story and writing ideas and dialogue.

This is such a wonderful wordless book. It's a great opportunity to talk to your child about working hard for something and doing nice things for others.

Heartwarming. Break out the tissues! This book is one of my favorites this year.
