The Saga of John Fahey

Known as the father of American Primitive Guitar, many consider John Fahey to be a foundational figure in American folk music. As both musician and musicologist, Fahey made a fundamental contribution to our understanding and appreciation of such music genres as Delta blues, Appalachian bluegrass, and New Orleans jazz. Interviews, performances and archival footage with animation are combined in a musically charged tribute to a tremendously influential composer, guitarist and provocateur.

John Fahey is an incomparable guitarist, and a lively and eccentric person which you get to see in this documentary about Fahey.

Interesting documentary about idiosyncratic guitar player John Fahey. The doc. is mediocre but the subject ( Fahey ) is fascinating.

I went to some performances of John Fahey when I was in university and I had a couple of his albums. Loved his guitar playing! Didn't know much about him personally though and this documentary provided personal information.
