For two years, Ashley, a rough and rugged beauty in her mid-twenties, has walked a tightrope, trying to prove that she is fit to be a mother and regain custody of her son. She discovers her father is smuggling immigrants across the border. Ashley is lured by the prospect of easy money in the role of a coyote. Her plans go awry, and she finds herself quickly stranded with a young girl whose mother disappeared in the late night river crossing. She soon discovers something she didn't know she had.

There are positives to this movie. The main character learns and becomes a better person.

Quite a bit is in Spanish with subtitles.

Way too much smoking, that's pretty disgusting, but there doesn't appear to be any once the main character becomes a better person; we can hope she also gave it up.

Enjoyable movie and story. Abbie Cornish is a great Actress.
