Hidden within the battle of Jericho is the story of Rahab, a beautiful and brave young Canaanite woman who aided the Israelites by hanging a piece of scarlet cord. The youngest daughter of a Canaanite farmer, Rahab is taken to Jericho for the pagan New Year so her father can find her a wealthy spouse. Sala, the Israelite boy who once saved her from kidnapping, is there. The two admit their love for one another, but their religions make marriage impossible.

Joan Wolf has created an endearing, warm story of Rahab. It was very cute and I think would be a wonderful read for Christian teenage girls looking to get more insight into the life of Rahab. As it is about two teenagers and their romance and how it served God, this was a quick read and definitely something I would recommend to someone around the same age. I was a little disappointed that deeper elements of the Biblical story were not discussed but it merely skimmed the surface and focused on the blossoming relationship.
