First time reading this author. I enjoyed it but then I like reading about family relationships with each other. It was also enjoyable because the characters spent time in Venice, as I did recently, so I knew some of the places they frequented and it brought back lovely memories.

Agree with the others... anticlimactic. "I had no way of knowing that morning that trouble was on its way." pg 70. She had me curious... but I ended up skimming... because chapter upon chapter there was really nothing.

This is the only book I have read by this author, and I do not enjoy her style. I'm not really sure how she became famous? The character says things that are robotic. One traumatic event took only two pages and is written like a scientific journal entry: "It struck me immediately that I had to stay in the bathroom for as long as it took." pg 289. Whaaat???

If it was a bibliography I would understand the lack of creative writing.

I found this book very disappointing. There was really no point to the whole thing. I kept waiting for something and after almost 200 pages, a wee bit of a plot, but really not much of one. I will not waste my time reading this author again.

I have been a fan of BTB, however this is a very disappointing book from this author. Its pretty boring and drags on for nothing. Her last few books have been a let down. Will think twice before picking up one of her books again

I have always been in awe of Barbara Taylor Bradford and her writing. However the last two books were disappointing.
In both books, ''Letter from a Stranger'' and ''Secrets from the Past'', I found that I was nearly finished the book before any secrets were revealed. Both were very uneventful reads. Not really intriging. Sorry.
