For years, Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch have ridden roughshod over rabble-rousers and gun hands in troubled towns. Now, newly appointed as Territorial Marshals, they're traveling by train through the Indian Territories on a simple mission escorting Mexican prisoners to the border. But when the Governor of Texas and his family climb aboard with their bodyguards and $500,000 in tow, the journey becomes a lot more complicated.

Another case of very false advertising. For some reason Parkers heirs continue to allow use of his name by other authors who are in no way Parker's equal in their writing skills. Junk!

Not a bad job.

However, on page 226 of Ironhorse, the term "500K" was used to describe five hundred thousand dollars referenced in a telegram. Since this is a Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch novel that took place in the 1800's I doubt Americans of that era would have been able to comprehend the meaning of "K" when used in that context.

A strong tip of the cowboy hat to the author for carrying on Parker's western series in fine fashion. Knott weaves an exciting story with sharpshooting lawmen Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch, with plenty of 19th century railroad details that make it all the more interesting.
