Will Trent is a brilliant agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Newly in love, he is beginning to put a difficult past behind him. Then a local college student goes missing. Will is kept off the case by his supervisor, Amanda Wagner. He can't begin to understand her motivation until they collide in an abandoned orphanage. Decades before - when Will's father was imprisoned for murder - this was his home...

The summer Will Trent was born, Amanda Wagner was going to college, making Sunday dinners for her father, and taking her first tentative steps in the boys' club that is the Atlanta Police Department. One of her first cases was a brutal crime in one of the city's worst neighborhoods.

The case that launched Amanda's career has come back to life, and is seemingly intertwined with the long-held mystery of Will's birth and parentage. Now these two dauntless investigators will each need to face down demons from the past in order to prevent an even greater terror from being unleashed.

This has to be my favorite of all the author's books (intense and compelling).

This would have to be one of the most unenjoyable reads I have ever made

Could not recommend it to anyone

Undone is her best book, But this book contains her best writing. There are characters in this book that I definitely wish to see more of.

Not badly written but confusing to keep track of all the characters as the story ping-ponged from current to past time frames. Too gruesome.

This is my 3rd book from this writer. I really like the Will Trent series and will read more. This was a very good book which finally told you about Will Trent's parents and the role his boss played in his earlier life ... hard to read as a woman due to the torture the female victims endured. However, very well written book. If you like her books, I recommend it.

I read this book then passed it on to my teen daughter who is a big fan of slaughter. I enjoyed this book although it frightened me at some parts. It was incredibly well written, I'm a fan of the Will Trent series and can't wait to read more.

OK, think of the worst thing that could be done to women. Then realize that this author can outdo you. Then ask yourself if you want to read that?

I love the Will Trent series, and this book was a little hard due to subject, but well worth it. I got passed the part of no return pretty quick. Great writing

Good work by Slaughter. She's one of my favorites, if you like her style- you will like this one. Earlier books a tad bit more exciting.
