A portrait of the late photographer Francesca Woodman, told through the young artist's work (including experimental videos and journal entries) and remarkably candid interviews with her artist parents Betty and George (a ceramic sculptor and painter/photographer), who have continued their own artistic practices while watching Francesca's professional reputation eclipse their own.

Very interesting! I'd not heard of the Woodmans and their art until I watched the film. Now I'm looking forward to exploring their art more fully.

The best thing about this biopic is all the art by the Woodmans which I would have been quite content to view in a slideshow format. As for the the story of Francesca Woodman, as told by her family members, associates, and revealed through snippets from her diaries... Oy, I could have happily gone without all of it!

Beautiful expose' from an artist so pure to her own form. Loving, vibrant meditation on art, family, struggle and acceptance on several levels. Never knew of Francesca before - now, I will never forget her.
