This is a great book, written by a female who was frustrated every time trained hairdressers ruined her hair with methods they were trained to use on everyone! So she developed techniques specifically designed for all degrees of curly hair. It's helped me so much with knowing how to best work with my daughter's mixed-race hair, without damaging it in the process. The author even demonstrates the correct way to trim curly hair, which is completely different from the way we see most hairdressers cut hair. If you or your child has curly hair, I highly recommend this book!

This is a great book for anyone who has curly or even wavy hair and needs encouragement and methodology to free themselves from the tyranny of the blow-dryer and straightening flat irons. Now I finally look like the real me, and the real me looks great!

Book was very informative however it didn't have that much information for my specific hairtype... Curly Nikki's book was better although both are super inspirational.

Great book for curly girls. I found most of the instructions very informative, including using clips at the roots. For additional information check out Youtube for videos by Lorraine Massey. From the book I thought barely washing out conditioner on fine hair was crazy; but after seeing it done in a video I trusted it and my hair has never looked better.
