Not much to like here... bad story full of glaring plot holes and ridiculous situations. Character reactions are wholly unbelievable and lack any genuine emotion. Just bad.
Question: If your friend's heart stopped would you at least attempt CPR, or just start crying?

This is life imitating art imitating life. Robert Downey Jr as a drug addict! What a stretch! Seriously must see 80's movie. Great cast. Downey sticks the role of the coke fiend (shocker) and Gertz, McCarthy and Spader turn in good 80's melodramatic roles as well. The soundtrack kicks and the flick really shines as an 80's period piece.

Actually, this is a very stylish, affecting flick. Downey Jr. is far from "dredful" (if you mean "dreadful"). Powerfully evocative of the alienated, self-indulgent '80's, as experienced by the Hollywood young and rich.

Hollywood garbage...no matter what you do to it, it's still garbage. Robert Downey Jr. is dredful. Is he even acting? As always, James Spader plays a splendid bad guy.
