I have long been a fan of this novel, and have read it in print and listened to this recording twice. It helps that I've read a lot of Victorian literature. My guess is that you have to be a fan of Victorian culture and both slapstick and sophisticated humor to appreciate this story. It is simply brilliantly done. Each time I read/listen to it, I pick up new fun details. For me it is the perfect escape--nonstop wit, thorough historical research, and HEA. And the reader couldn't be better.

I just don't 'get' this writer & did not like the reader. Not my kind of sci-fi.

The narrator for this CD set is wonderfully talented. Various Brit accents are believable - pretty amazing. Love the way the story line unfolds.
