In a nutshell - I hated "Pretty Woman". I really did.

I hated how this film's idiotic story completely glorified the trashy profession of prostitution.

I hated the on-screen chemistry (or, the lack of it) between that chatter-box airhead, Julia Roberts, and that despicable, self-loving creep, Richard Gere.

I hated this film's preposterous fairytale premise of a street-level whore becoming the #1 love-interest of a billionaire corporate bloodsucker.

Yep. I really hated "Pretty Woman" from start to finish. I really, really, really did!

IMO - Richard Gere (playing the "pretty-boy" prince) and Julia Roberts (playing the "pretty woman" princess) rank right up there as being the most despicable and dreary on-screen lovers in Hollywood, royalty history, ever. It's true.

Let's face it, folks - These 2 completely superficial actors weren't even in the least bit interesting to watch. And, their sexual energy (which should have been this film's highlight, setting off sparks flying everywhere) amounted to being nothing but a big, flaccid zero.

Yes. This truly sickening 1990 Rom/Com (with its utterly demented dialogue) contained so many cringe-worthy moments that it all made my skin crawl, over, and over, and over, again.

Directed by Garry Marshall in 1990, this American romantic dramedy delves into the romance between a down-on-her-luck Hollywood hooker and a wealthy businessman.
Although it seems like how love transcends money, it turns out to be a yuppie fantasy that appears far from reality.

When I was little, I always wanted to watch this movie because I've overheard my older sister talking about it with her friends. So I got to watch it with my mom afterwards. Now, I'm the mommy and I still find this film very charming. Yes I know most people criticize this film due to the prostitution but it's a movie! And lastly I like the added scenes in the movie since they weren't there originally when I've first watched it.

My new favorite movie

Cute and surprisingly engaging--I understand why this one is something of a modern classic. I had been told that the premise was more along the lines of "My Fair Lady," so I was a little surprised that Julia Roberts's character was a prostitute, and that she met Richard Gere's character mostly by accident, but once I quit trying to match it to "My Fair Lady," I really enjoyed the characters. This movie reminded me at times of "Miss Congeniality," and "The Proposal," with that late 80's/early 90's feel of "Turner and Hooch."
