"Sad Cypress" is a great Agatha Christie novel with an interesting premise. The characters are likeable and the build-up to the crime is great. Afterwards, Poirot does his regular investigating and continues his trend of keeping important facts to himself. The denouement is also interesting because the solution is revealed through witnesses testifying during court and Poirot later reveals how he solved the crime first. Overall, "Sad Cypress" is a good detective novel and holds up well when compared to Christie's better works.

This is one of the most incredible books that I've read in my life!!! This book is totally the best choice for everybody, whether they are a romantic book lover or if they like thrilling and crime books (this is me). Once I saw a post by a guy who wrote: "I don't read Agatha Christie books because I love to see who is the criminal at the end but I read her books because she understands the people's minds and she doesn't make you discover anything until she wants you to... I tried to read other crime novels from different authors but I didn't like them that much..." I'm not sure if that's exactly what he said but I can remember the idea that he was trying to say... This novel is about a beautiful educated lady named Elinor. She is in jail because everyone thinks that she killed Mary Gerard (I hate this girl sooooo much) because her fiance Rodrick had loved her. Elinor was jealous of her but Hercule Poirot, the very smart detective, and Dr. Peter Lord, the doctor who loves her, are going to help her solve the crime. The thing that I liked most in the novel was the complicated love story between Elinor, Rodrick and Dr. Peter Lord. I give this book 9/10
