Songs of the Civil Rights Movement

Description

Freedom Arts and Education Center teaching artists will lead a virtual program on the songs of the Civil Rights movement. This workshop is for participants 13 and older. Our nation’s civil rights movements have an underlying pulse of music. In this workshop, participants will learn about the songs and artists that sprang forth from the struggle and progress of Black Americans and find out how music has encouraged and empowered millions of people. The workshop will conclude with an interactive song mixing activity using the resources in Creative Experience.
